Still swimming through this goal nicely and I’ve regained the momentum I’d thought I’d lost. Here’s to my home being “less is more.”
.
b) DECLUTTER TWO BOOKMARKS FOR EVERY ONE ADDED
.
+1 Bookmarks Added
-2 Bookmarks Deleted
.
SYNOPSIS = Done but lots more decluttering required
.
GRADE = C
.
c) DECLUTTERING CALENDAR
Spending time (about fifteen minutes) each day tackling a different decluttering task
.
Sunday
Took down Valentine’s decorations and up went the spring/Easter ones!
.
Weds
Attacked our study and when I say attacked, I mean attacked! Removed most of its content into the adjoining master bedroom and set to work. I’d already sorted ninety per cent of the crafts etc so it was just a matter of reorganising the space and the furniture and boy did my hubs appreciate the effort, and boy does my back hurt after said effort. Note to self – don’t try to lift a hugely heavy solid wood bookshelf by yourself!!!! Totally worth it though!
.
Fri
Delved into the study once again with an unexpected afternoon off work and cleared out another three or four boxes (big boxes). Hubs allowed me to organise a set of drawers’ worth of his stuff and I was able to incorporate most of it into my existing system. He then swapped that old falling-apart set of drawers for another set I have some paint-astic dreams for. Switched out the handles on it for some string pulls in the meantime and emptied its contents onto the shelving unit I moved downstairs (into our utility). I have great plans for these drawers!
Sat
Tidied and such, in preparation for the dessert part of a safari supper we were hosting.
Continued decluttering Study and then decluttered the TV Recorder Box! :)
.
Sun
Decluttered the leftover desserts to family and friends
.
Mon-Weds
Decluttered the study further including delving through boxes that hadn’t been dug through for years (for shame but I’m getting there – never got to the point of calling clean house so I can fool myself I’m not THAT bad).
.
Thurs- Sat
Decluttered the old sticky tape from my baby book and reattached all the cards and pictures
Tues
Decluttered and organised my hot press
.
Thurs
Decluttered and reorganised our guest bedroom
.
Fri
Decluttered and organised my car (DH was a star and cleaned out both cars)
.
SYNOPSIS: Definitely still not decluttering everyday but there’s certainly a better habit being formed as more stuff goes out of my house than comes in! Plus side too as I was able to enjoy some scrapbooking on Friday with all my very organised craft supplies (just need to put it all away again). Was also able to help Sporty Sis today to organise her kitchen and get some laundry done and lots more put away. Here’s hoping we’ll both end up more organised through this.
.
GRADE: B
.
Because the habit is being formed and I’m definitely doing more than a daily fifteen minutes when it’s all added up time-wise.
.
AVERAGE OVERALL GRADE = B+
