Thirty-one days of bringing home baby - Day 10

So life got busy and blogging about wasn't quite as necessary as you know - living it . . .

On Day 5 I did:
get up about nine but The Husband got up with me,
oil bump and perineum,
get dressed first thing,
eat breakfast, lunch and dinner,
drink three cups of raspberry leaf tea,
have my quiet time along with scripture memorisation but DID NOT pray - not good
do another dark wash,
check email,
mark our bedroom walls for two of the six things (the other four requiring my husband to finish painting) and mark the nursery walls for NOT one BUT two things,
return my brand-new driving licence which arrived yesterday with the wrong address on it,
NOT research and complete maternity form with my sister,
prep for my tutoring session with Tammy-Girl (this avo) and the one with Little Miss on Friday,
work on clearing the “junk” in the living room for at least an hour,
NOT make lunch for my Hubby as he chose to head to the gym instead,
fold and put away dry laundry,
prep white washing,
NOT have a nap after Hubby leaves for work,
spend my usual “working hours” BEGINNING TO GET our kitchen, small sitting room, dining room, hallway and guest bathroom “company ready” for the baby shower on Saturday,
tutor Tammy-Girl,
prepare a sample for tomorrow’s midwife appointment,
NOT write a definite Ikea shopping list for our imminent shopping trip (measure up for shelving, storage unit etc),
NOT place a book order for Christmas and birthday gifts,
NOT watch last section of hospital DVD with Hubby,
lay out clothes, jewellery, make-up etc. for tomorrow’s wedding do and
lay out clothes for tomorrow generally.

And I didn't get a chance to call to the new "superstore" either cos I wasted my time instead.

Since Day 5 I have . . .
continued to oil my bump and perineum, make my bed, open my blinds and get dressed first thing - this has really improved how each and every one of my days have gone,
eaten with regularity if not healthfully and drank bucket loads of raspberry leaf tea,
neglected my quiet time quite shockingly (only done it twice in five days),
attended morning service,
continued the practice of laying out my clothes each evening which has greatly improved my mornings also,
enjoyed a wedding evening do and was one of the last to leave!
shopped in ikea with my Mama and got lovely nursery curtains and a blackout blind etc.
checked email,
done laundry,
thoroughly enjoyed my baby shower (if not the manic amount of tidying and preparation that preceded it),
not enjoyed the preparations for said baby shower but have thoroughly enjoyed the fact that our home is tidy, organised and clean following said preparations,
as mentioned thoroughly tidied, organised and cleaned our house,
tutored Little Miss and prepped for this Fri avo,
prepped tutoring for Tammy-Girl for this Weds avo,
cleared all the "junk" from our living room (hiding it downstairs in our storage room counts right?),
attended another midwife appt - all is well,
neglected my naps and
watched the last of the hospital DVD with my Hubby.

Today (Day 10) I have wasted a good proportion of the day but have:
made bed, opened blinds,
gotten dressed, oiled bump and perineum,
eaten regularly, drunk two cups of raspberry leaf tea,
weighed-in and posted about it,
exchanged baby shower gifts for larger sizes or alternatives,
visited with my folks,
done two loads of laundry, hung one up,
filled dishwasher,
text my sister back,
tidied as I've gone and
updated my thirty-one days series.

I still plan to . . .
rebuild our cake stand,
hang up my second load of laundry,
drink about five glasses of water,
drink another cup of raspberry leaf tea,
light lamps and candles to welcome my Hubby home,
arrange acupuncture for myself and my mum,
make and eat dinner with The Husband,
prepare the Bible study for tomorrow with my Hubby,
attend our final antenatal/parenting class,
lay out my clothes for tomorrow,
change for tonight's class,
pack handbag for tonight and
pray for and text my SIL re her operation (tomorrow).

I hope to post again tomorrow and keep up with this series, as it definitely helps me to prioritise appropriately rather than just attend to the urgent.
