Why submit?

Why submit?

Number 1
The Bible tells us to. Period.

Number 2
It's God's plan for us - never an easy thing to follow but always rewarding because then we get NOT the world's best but GOD'S BEST - infinitely better!

Number 3
The Bible also says we should submit to Christ - we don't question this so why would we question submitting to our husbands?

Number 4
The Bible also says we should submit to Biblical teaching - we don't question this as a rule so why do we question it when it comes to submitting to our husbands?

Number 5
It is part of Biblical teaching so we should do it. Period.
Biblical teaching is not just about “don’t do this, don't do that”. It's also about the loving and yes the submitting. The dos are just as important as the don'ts.

Number 6
If we show ourselves submissive to our husbands we show our children God’s ways and we show our children how to submit to God-given authority (their Daddy’s, church leaders and any other authoritative adults, older siblings when they have been put in charge and also US. When we show our children we can submit to our husbands we show them how to submit to us. If we moan and groan about doing our husband’s bidding – how can we complain when our children offer us the same attitude.

As a Christian I try to submit to my Saviour. As a wife I am to submit to my husband.

Of course I fall very short of this mark – EVERYDAY – and I don’t yet have children to show my example to (thank goodness because they would not get the example I would wish for them). This is an area that I really need to work on – how about you?
