I'm sure most of you have heard of FlyLady - if you haven't where have you been?!?!
She explains a series of baby steps to build up to a clean and organised home and for those who you who use and have succeeded with her system - well done - but it isn't for me.
Each day we are to shine our sink(s) because apparently a clean and shiny sink will get us motivated. Now I love a shiny sink but I'd have to agree more with my fellow-blogger Briana that a shiny sink is not the only motivator and sometimes certain things can demotivate us too.
Read Brianna's take at her blog Heart(h) Management.
Unfortunately for the blogosphere (but fortunately for her family so she can keep her home fires burning) Brianna hasn't posted in an age but I'd highly suggest reading through her archive (as I've been doing on and off) because she's so very real and inspirational.
My answers to her queries are very similar to her own:
The things that motivate me are:
An empty laundry hamper
A made bed
Clear spaces
The things that make me stagnate:
Cluttered or crumb-covered kitchen counters
Piles of dishes
An unmade bed
Piles of laundry
Unopened blinds/curtains
Cluttered spaces
No shiny sinks to be found on my list - what about yours?
What motivates or demotivates you about your home?
