Random Ramblings 2

  • Today I'm going into Random Ramblings Mode . . .
  • Sorry for no Wednesday Walk post yesterday, I had it all thought out and had started writing it but I've been so taken up with decluttering our study that blogging and in fact any computer time has taken a backseat. I'll hold off on my thoughts and post next Wednesday instead.
  • My husband likes things neat and presentable, they don't have to be organised just look okay. I like things super organised but often forget about the overall look and so the place might be lovingly decorated and the inside of the cupboards might be beautifully organised but you'll never notice past that big ol' pile of paper that's in need of sorting.
  • So I've been learning to combine the two over the past five and a half months of marriage and I might actually be starting to get somewhere. This submission malarkey has its definite advantages because as I follow my husband's lead I am led into a more peaceful, calm and tidy home.
  • On the note of peace - as peace is my word of the year - I've been making a slight but continual effort towards being a more peaceful person, reacting more peacefully to perceived hurts from others or wrongdoing in my charges and I feel less stressed (stress was always a problem for me) and much happier.
  • God's peace follows personal peace as I immerse myself in His word through B90 (though at my rate really reading the Bible through in a year). I am bookmarking all Amy's B90 SOAPs (@ Mom's Toolbox) so I can read through them when I finally reach the relevant passages.
  • Life has been busy and will continue to be as I'm working with my eldest sister to organise our wee sister's hen night. The run up to Miss Thing's wedding is quite traumatic as we are all still grieving the loss (through estrangement - physical and emotional) of my slightly older sister Catriona. She and Miss Thing were two peas in a pod and her presnce is missed and grieved and mourned and embitters us at times and angers us and saddens us and well we're all still very much on that rollercoaster - say a wee prayer for us - we need it.
  • I have so many goals in my head and kept planning to write a New Year's Goals/Resolutions post but the list of goals kept growing and it became rather untenable so instead I'm taking it one day at a time with two main goals in mind only - to daily strive to become a better Christian, wife, household manager, childminder, person and to read through God's Word from start to finish - and really they just sum it all up.
  • My priorities over the next few days are to declutter and organise our study - so far it's going really well so I want to keep going whilst the momentum carries me onward.
  • I'm going to lighten my load for blogging for the next few weeks so here's the new schedule:
  • Monday: B90 Update (and Decluttering February Update)
  • Wednesday: Wednesday Walk
  • Friday: Feed Me Books Friday
  • Saturday: (Regular) Decluttering Update
  • "Time marches on neverending" a line from a random dance song I can't name pops into my head and as such I must finish up this post, I'll end it with an embed of a current favourite hymn:
