Scripture
Deuteronomy Chapter 7 verse 21
Do not be terrified by them (the stronger more numerous peoples you are to battle) for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God.
Observation
The Israelites needed the courage of remembering God was in their midst.
Application
We also need to remember that God is in our midst as we do battle:
Against the poor behaviour of the stronger-willed more numerous children who we care for
Against the numerous calls to commercialism we encounter as we battle to keep our money for what God would have us purchase or support
Against the many pity-party forming thoughts that build up within our own selves
Against the many forms of entertainment that will tear us down not build us up in our faith or just simply distract us from what God would have us do
Add your own . . .
Prayer
Lord help us all remember that as we do battle for You in our daily lives that You are ever in our midst and will give us the strength to overcome if only we recall Your strength is ours for the taking.
You are a great and awesome God - don't let us forget.
Amen
