A Sporting Hero

So often the media celebrate medicrity, celebrity or body parts. It was lovely to come across this, albeit short, article on humble sportsmen.

The article mentioned a familiar name to me - Jesse Jackson - I remembered him coming up in history when I studied the lead-up to WWII. Jackson was the black sportsman who proved Hitler's theories of Aryan superiority wrong, while the world watched.

Go here to read more about this man who gained "freedom" at a time when freedom was hard to be found for someone of his ethnicity.
