Clutterbug Gene
I have been a clutterbug from the day and hour of my birth – if you don’t believe me you should see one of my favourite babyhood photos. I’m lying on a bed surrounded by, no engulfed in, gifts. Outfits, toys, onesies . . . they are numerous.
The gifts have kept coming and although they have lessened in number I still have so many of my earlier gifts and such a number of everything that my house is rarely if ever fully tidy. Though I would love to live by that oft quoted saying “A place for everything and everything in its place,” I have too many “everythings” and not enough places.
For example – my crafting has gradually filled the study and along with my magazine collection gives my husband only a tiny fraction of this room. This fraction is bigger than his previous “computer room” which was the very minute space under his very steep and narrow stairs but that is not the point – I have a desk I can barely see, let alone work at and craft supplies that I can barely get to in order to craft (which of course has to actually be done in our lounge – thus spreading the mess and chaos). Ah!
It’s an endless cycle that I want to bring to an end!
So I am committing to doing the 2010 Declutter Diary (which I’ve tweaked with mini-sticky-notes to suit my needs) courtesy of Beth@ My Simpler Life as well as tackling that ever present CHAOS (Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome - FlyLady) because we love company and have weekly Wednesday open house hospitality and all this clutter is driving me (and DH) nuts!!!!
So here goes (today’s goal is to declutter my kitchen counters - which shouldn’t be had cos I kinda did that recently).
*Update* I'm also committing to decluter an average of two things a day across this year, totalling 730 in 365 days with Amy@ The Finer Things in Life
Time Lord
Doctor Who that cult British classic has of late made a comeback and as that time lord seeks to fold the fabric of time and space and journey and save people. I’ll stick to my time Lord who created time and all those that live within it and seeks to save us.
I have wasted so much time across my life and my goal for the coming seasons is to make the best use of the time I have left – the time I have each day.
Reading the Bible in 90 days will be one way I hope to redeem the time, another is my schedule (“Managers of Their Homes”) and another is little routines built into the flow of my day (I’ll post more on this but this forms a greater part of the interim schedule I’m currently using).
I’m committing to pray “my” time into the Lord’s hands; to pray that the Lord might use “my” time for Him and that He might guide me through writing a master schedule that might allow me to get everything done that He and DH require of me.
